WeWork
2010-2019
WeWork is an office rental company, most famous for its outrageous founder, the manic investors he fooled, and its spectacular failure. The company was at its peak valued at $47 billion. That is a lot of money! Especially considering that the company was unprofitable.
The good times with private jets, free beer for tenants, and tequila parties didn’t last long. The company collapsed and the founder Adam Neumann now lives in exile in Israel. The WeWork story led to at least two films: the Apple TV+ miniseries WeCrashed, and a Hulu documentary titled WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn.
