Sinclair C5 - electric scooter
1985
The C5 battery-powered electric vehicle was developed by the very successful British inventor Clive Sinclair. Ahead of its time by 30 years, the C5 was a commercial flop. It suffered from poor battery life and frustratingly slow speeds. The vehicle barely had enough room for a bag of groceries, let alone the driver himself. The C5’s biggest issue, however, was safety since it was so low to the ground that it was difficult to see in traffic.
