Lifesavers Holes
Early 1990’s
Companies often launch new versions of classic products to boost sales. Lifesavers Holes were supposed to resemble the punched holes from the original candies. According to the blog Children of the 90s “In the 90s, it was popular to reformulate popular foodstuffs into smaller, cuter, more animated versions of itself. Lifesavers Holes featured ads depicting tiny candies frolicking care-freely, enjoying their tiny lifestyles.” Heavy adverting with fun commercials made by Pixar resulted in a short-lived success. Officially, the product was discontinued due to problems with the packaging.
